Estimate

When it comes to our fireplace installations, Kane always starts with an estimate. We want to ensure that our customer knows the rough cost of the job and the time it will take to complete the project. Our team likes to be through and will provide you with a detailed breakdown and some of your options, including fuel type, location and size.

Installation

Finally, we will finish up the installation and test your fireplace. Depending on the fuel source, you will also get your WETT certificate, and our technicians can answer any questions you may have.

Assessing the area

Assessing the area of the home is more than just looking at a room; it is about finding the right size stove for your house. The team at Kane’s knows that the right fireplace is possible, but it is all about figuring out the dimensions and where the fireplace will go. We will work with you to find the best solution and provide you with the right size stove for what you are looking to do.

Venting

Depending on the type of stove, we may be looking to install a vertical or horizontal vent. Gas and pellet stoves are generally vented horizontally, while wood-burning stoves are vertical. The vent allows for heated air to escape to the outside. There are a tonne of vent styles, and here are a few we may look to use on your fireplace

Assessing the job

Once we have sent over an estimate and you are looking to move forward, one of our expert technicians will need to assess the job. This will include where you want the fireplace, the type of fuel you are looking to do and other factors that will affect the expected cost of the installation. Depending on your home, we may need to frame, remove flooring, install a platform, or host other associated actions. Once our assessment is done, we will touch base with a more detailed quote and start assessing the area.

Fireplace inserts take your normal inefficient wood-burning fireplace up to the next level. With a Kane’s installed insert, you can experience an increase of up to 70 per cent with a single installation. These inserts sit within your existing fireplace and are a well-insulated and efficient firebox. Most inserts are double-walled and include built-in circulation fans to help warm your entire space. All of our fireplace inserts are high-efficiency and EPA-approved.
